Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that combines traditional healing methods with modern scientific knowledge. It emphasizes the body's innate ability to heal itself and focuses on treating the root causes of illness rather than just alleviating symptoms. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are trained as primary care physicians and work alongside conventional medical practitioners to provide comprehensive and holistic care.
One of the key foundations of naturopathic medicine is the principle of treating the whole person. NDs take into account an individual's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, recognizing the interconnectedness of these aspects in achieving optimal health. Scientific research forms the basis of naturopathic medicine, and NDs utilize evidence-based practices to guide their treatment protocols. They integrate the latest scientific advancements with traditional healing modalities, such as herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, physical medicine, and lifestyle counseling. By combining these approaches, naturopathic medicine seeks to optimize the body's inherent healing capacity and promote long-term wellness.
Moreover, naturopathic medicine places a strong emphasis on preventive care. NDs work with patients to identify risk factors, implement lifestyle changes, and develop personalized strategies to promote optimal health and prevent future illness. By focusing on preventive measures, naturopathic medicine aims to reduce the burden on the healthcare system and empower individuals to take an active role in maintaining their well-being.
Nutrition is another fundamental aspect of naturopathic medicine, and its importance is well-established in scientific literature. Numerous studies have linked dietary factors to the prevention and management of chronic diseases, including diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular conditions, and certain types of cancer. Naturopathic doctors employ evidence-based nutritional strategies to support their patients' overall health and address specific health concerns. This proactive approach aligns with scientific evidence highlighting the importance of preventive strategies in maintaining optimal health.
In conclusion, naturopathic medicine blends scientific evidence with traditional healing principles to provide comprehensive and individualized healthcare. By addressing the root causes of illness and promoting overall wellness, naturopathic medicine offers a valuable approach that complements conventional medicine and empowers individuals to achieve and sustain optimal health.

Certified Athletic Therapy
Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. The first to respond when someone gets hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic.
Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist's goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of small sterilized needles into specific locations on the skin surface to stimulate the body. Acupuncture and procedures related to acupuncture have been demonstrated to be a safe and effective form of treatment for a range of conditions including musculoskeletal complaints and pain. Acupuncture may also be used to address other health concerns. Depending on the practitioner, a Contemporary Medical Acupuncture (Neurofunctional Acupuncture) approach or a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach will be used.
